Meet the teachers

Carlos DomingoCarlos Domingo
Hi, my name is Carlos and I was born in Madrid, Spain. At the moment I am living in one of the Spanish Canary Islands, called La Gomera. I teach Spanish with TheSpanishBlog.com live online using Skype to students from all around the world. My current students are from countries such as Taiwan, Brazil, Germany, USA, England, and Ireland. I love my job and I love meeting new people and helping them to learn and master my language. I first got interested in teaching Spanish when I was working as a volunteer in Finland and Vietnam. There I met numerous people who were keen to practice Spanish with me and I realized what an important language Spanish is in the world. I also realized how much I enjoyed teaching it. After returning to Spain, I took various courses to improve my skills as a foreign language teacher and began teaching some of the many German and British people living in La Gomera. More recently I decided to specialize in online teaching via Skype as it allows me to teach more people in a comfortable and efficient way without leaving my home. Live online teaching is fantastic for me, the teacher, and I believe it is absolutely the best method of learning for any student. If you fancy learning Spanish with me then I really look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you online very soon.

Laura Garrido
Hola, my name is Laura. I am from Bilbao in the north of Spain. I trained as a Spanish Language Teacher with Lacunza International House in San Sebastian, Spain, and qualified in 2004. I taught Spanish at Exeter College of Further & Higher Education in England and later in an Alicante Language School after moving back to Spain and have been teaching live online Spanish classes to students from all over the world via the internet since 2006. I have taught students of every level, from every continent. I believe live online classes are absolutely the most effective and comfortable way for a student to achieve the highest possible level of Spanish. I have seen amazing results in short periods of time and I really enjoy getting to know students and spending time with them online; guiding them through the challenge of learning and perfecting a second language and having great fun in the process. I would love to hear from you if you are interested in learning Spanish with me. Whatever age you are and whether you are a complete beginner or at an intermediate or advanced level already, I can assure you that your Spanish will move speedily on to the next level. I am also experienced in preparing students for the standard national Spanish exams and have very good pass rates. So, enjoy the video and mp3 courses available here on TheSpanishBlog.com and whenever you want to get started with some live online classes I very much look forward to meeting you.
