In this Spanish lesson we will learn about making comparisons in Spanish using the transport vocabulary and Spanish adjectives we learned in previous lessons. We will first learn how to say: “more … than” which is “más … que”, “less … than” which is “menos … que” and “as … as” which is “tan … como” in Spanish and then apply this to descriptions of different types of transport. For example, if you want to say: “The train is less expensive than the plane” you would say: “El tren es menos caro que el avión” and if you want to say: “The train is as fast as the car” you would say: “El tren es tan rápido como el coche”. Obviously these sentence structures can be applied to many different subjects, with many different Spanish adjectives. The important thing is to be clear and remember the basic grammar structure of how to make comparisons in Spanish, along with a long list of different Spanish adjectives and relevant vocabulary. Then you are ready to apply your skills in any given situation.
