Granada está situada en el sureste de España y es la capital de la provincia del mismo nombre. La ciudad está situada a los pies de Sierra Nevada, la cordillera más alta de la Península Ibérica. Ofrece la oportunidad de disfrutar de fantásticas pistas de esquí y playas soleadas en su cercana costa mediterránea. Realmente es una ciudad que ofrece algo para todos – cultura e historia, deportes y actividades de ocio, arte y eventos y comida y bebida de gran calidad.

Granada es una de las ciudades más importantes de España, por su cultura y arquitectura. Cuenta con más de mil años de historia y sus influencias moriscas son evidentes. Lo más famoso en Granada es, sin duda la Alhambra, pero el barrio histórico morisco del Albaicín (y también designado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO) también es una visita obligada. Sus intrincadas y sinuosas calles con edificios blancos, sus tiendas artesanas y sus teterías son de una belleza excepcional y una vez dentro es fácil pasar el día simplemente vagando por las calles sumergiéndote en el ambiente.

La ciudad vibra con la vida y la actividad artística. Grandes festivales adornan casi todos los meses del año. Estos incluyen el Festival Internacional de Música y Danza, el Festival de Jazz, el Festival de Magia y el Festival de Tango. Sin olvidar sus fiestas españolas habituales, que Granada las hace tan bien como cualquier otra ciudad. En verano las calles están llenas de vida, diversión y fiestas, pero ten en cuenta que hará muchísimo calor.

Granada is located in south east Spain and is the capital city of the province of the same name. The city is at the foot of Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range of the Iberian Peninsula. It offers the opportunity to enjoy both fantastic ski slopes and sun drenched beaches of the nearby Mediterranean coast. It really is a city that offers something for everyone – culture and history, sports and leisure activities, art and events and wonderful food and drink.

Granada is one of Spain’s most important cities culturally and architecturally. It has more than a thousand years of recorded history and its Moorish influences are obvious. The most famous of all of Granada’s draws is definitely the Alhambra, but the historical (and also UNESCO World Heritage designated) Moorish Albaicín part of the city is also a must-see. It’s intricate, weaving streets, white buildings, craft shops and tea rooms are a beauty to behold and once inside you can easily while away a day simply wandering about soaking up the atmosphere.

The city buzzes with life and artistic activity. Big festivals adorn almost every month of the year. These include The International Music and Dance Festival, the Jazz Festival, the Magic Festival and the Tango Festival. This is not forgetting your usual Spanish fiestas and Granada does these as well as anyone. The streets are alive in summer with fun and festivities, but beware, it will be hot.
