    Hello, dear Laura!

I'd like to say Thank you for your nice and interesting lessons on Spanish. I've been studying Spanish for 8 years (4 years at high school and another 4 at university) but… unfortunately, I haven't had anybody to practise with. It resulted in me forgetting this lovely language. I love it so much and I don't want to let it go out of my mind… I found out about your lessons today and since I did so I have been studying all day long. It's so interesting! I would be more than happy if you let me communicate with you so that I can progress in Spanish language.
I wanted to know if you Spaniards speak to waiters/waitresses in Spain in friendly manner? As from what I read in the above short talk, I was curious to know if we should speak to a waiter in formal way? Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Hristo
    Bulgaria

  2. Hola Hristo,
Thanks very much for your comments and your valued support of my blog.
I am very proud that my lessons have found their way to Bulgaria and I hope you enjoy the rest of the course.
Regarding your question about how to address waiters and waitresses here in Spain, I would say it's entirely up to personal preference. I hear some people addressing them in a formal way and others in a more familar and friendly fashion. It also depends on the situation and the mood of the waiter or waitress. If you catch one on a bad day it could be a good idea to speak formally, for the sake of your meal as much as anything!
Keep in touch and enjoy the courses.
    Saludos,
    Laura

    Hola Laura,
Muchas gracias for your reply. I'm really enjoying your lessons, your short dialogues and the interesting exercises following them! I really appreciate your precious desire to help us learn Spanish and I'm sure many people in Bulgaria do like it! Thanks for the nice advise that you gave me. As I see, it's the same here – it depends on you and the place you are. If you are in a 4-star restaurant, of course you have to speak formally, but if you are in a street cafe, you can address them in a friendly way. We also have impersonal addressing in Bulgarian language, with the helo of which you don't need to address them by Tu or Usted. :-)
I'm wondering if you use Skype so we could chat more, of course according to your free time that you can spend on having a nice talk with people around the world. :-)

    Kind Regards,
    Hristo

  4. Hola Hristo,
It's great to hear from you again. I see you are progressing well through the video course, I hope you are feeling steadily more and more confident with your Spanish!
I do use Skype every day for my Live Online Classes, but I must be honest and say that unfortunately I just don't have time to chat with other blug users such as yourself. I would love to, but I am so busy with classes, videos, blog articles and my 11 month old daughter that I really don't have time to meet up.
Lots of people ask me and it saddens me to say no, but unfortunately I have no other choice. I hope you understand.
I wish you a lovely day and hope you continue to enjoy my blog for a long time to come.
    Saludos,
    Laura

    Hola Laura,
Yes, I do understand you very well. Don't worry about that. Hehe, so you've got a baby, that's nice. I wish her all the best, health and happiness and may her brings you lots of smile and cheerfulness when she grows up. Well, I will keep on enjoying your interesting blog full of easy-to-progress lessons and nice information about Spain. I've studied Spanish for 8 years since I went to high school, but for my shame I have to say I've forgotten it. It's because I don't have anybody to practise with.

    Kind regards,
    Hristo
